Many locals will know the owners of the new Arrayate un millo restaurant, Juan Carlos, from the Teleclub in Conil. Over several years he has established a solid clientele with tarditional Canarian cuisine and some culinary experiments.

After the Teleclub was closed due to renovation work, the Arrayate un millo in Tías is now a new meeting point for those who love Canarian cuisine. Located next to the Ermita de San Antonio and the famous tapas bar La Ermita, the restaurant, newly opened in 2019, is definitely worth a visit.

The name already shows what the restaurant is about: “Arrayate un millo” is one of those typical Canarian expressions that is only used here on the islands, and those who visit the restaurant will find a lot of other typical Canarian expressions and recipes for typical Canarian sauces find the walls.

Tapas, meat and fish dishes in Arrayate un millo

Whether you want to try a few delicious tapas or if you fancy a bigger meat or fish dish, there is a lot to choose from on the extensive menu of the restaurant. Classic Canarian starters such as fried squid, lapas, baked cheese, octopus or Canarian potatoes with mojo can be found alongside excellent dishes from Andalusia, such as fried eggplant with palm honey or gazpacho. The menu reflects the home of Juan Carlos, Seville, as well as his love for the Canaries and Lanzarote.

In addition to the dishes on the menu, there are always fresh daily recommendations. During our last visit there was, among other things, Cherne fillet in avocado sauce, Iberian pork and “Huevos rotos” with Serano ham. Juan Carlos attaches great importance to the best ingredients in all dishes and you only need to taste the olive oil that is on the tables to see for yourself. The use of the best ingredients runs through all offers.

Next to the actual interior, which is decorated with great historical photos of Lanzarote and beautiful pictures, the restaurant also offers the opportunity to dine on the terrace. Right next to the Ermita de San Antonio you can sit under the large parasols and enjoy the good cuisine.
